DESCRIPTION:

A typical 1950 ranch-style home was reimagined through a thoughtful renovation and addition that responds to modern living patterns while establishing a new definition and era for the home. The original structure was maintained and updated, while a second-story addition and relocated stairway introduced additional square footage, bedrooms, and bathrooms to the original two-bedroom, one-bath home.

Taking cues from mid-century design principles, the reconfigured layout creates open, flexible spaces for entertaining, working, dining, relaxing, and retreating. Rather than mimic the existing architecture, the new addition provides intentional contrast, creating a dialogue between old and new. Through materiality, proportion, and cohesive connections between spaces, the renovation balances the character of the original home with the needs of contemporary living.
