DESCRIPTION:

This proposed office and mixed-use building in Lincoln represents our team's first exploration of a CLT or DLT building system. As part of the design process, we evaluated various project delivery methods and construction techniques through discussions and interviews with professionals experienced in mass timber construction.

The proposed design utilizes a hybrid structural approach, combining concrete or masonry construction with a CLT or DLT system. The upper two floors are intended for occupancy by the client/owner, while the remaining spaces are designed to attract complementary tenants that support and complete the program brief.

Located prominently along Centennial Mall in Lincoln, the project provides an opportunity to showcase sustainable construction and design strategies in a highly visible public setting. This prominent location allows the building to serve not only as a functional mixed-use development but also as a platform for engaging the broader community in a dialogue about the benefits of sustainable material selections and innovative construction techniques.
